It is debatable which the best 4-star hero is. The worst, however, is Deathmort and his puppet.
Deathmort summons a 'Puppet' which takes damage in place of the hero, and converts that damage taken into attack. Unfortunately, the puppet has no survival skills and dies just too easily to make use of all that attack. It is the weakest summon among all, and does not bring anything to the table that we might make use of.
The ideal talents for Deathmort would be Morti Aura(increases HP of all Morti creatures in your hand), Cripple (reduces enemy attack) and Undying(grants rebirth to your creatures). However, I would suggest to get Wight with the same talent set instead of Deathmort as your Morti hero.
There are no situational uses for Deathmort.
